Around fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Police then found numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not aware of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the community for information.
An important official commented the incident rendered him speechless and needed to be solved rapidly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he stated on online, recalling the killing of nine people by a assailant targeting individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
